This post is about our June training camp 2011:)

DAY 1!

we fell in at 8:05 on the first day which is on the 21st june. Oriole patrol and Morning Glory patrol did colour party that morning, after that, we fell out and had changing parade. we changed three times, after that, we went to the field to pitch our tents, there are a total of 6 tents and 2 canvas tents. each buddy patrol gets one tent:) some of us helped pitch the canvas tents, while the rest of us pitched the normal ones. we also had to make a shoe rack using gadget poles and the strings:)

we had to put newspapers under the tents, and then a canvas sheet on top of our tents.

we pitched the tent for about 2-3 hours. after that, we had bag check. we had to bring our bags to the parade square. then PSes had to fall their patrol members in. the PLs then checked our bags. money, valuables, food, sweets, and fans were confiscated. After bag check, we put our bags down at the canteen and we fell in, then we had to fall out because we had to change into our guides uniform for handover.

we proceeded to the hall, and we fell in into the horseshoe formation.

the new PLs are:

Anabelle: IC for Public Relation and CIP (PL of Ixora)

Sara: External Secretary for campfires and initiatives (PL of Dove)

Charissa: First Aider and QM (PL of sparrow)

the new PSes are:

after handover, we had a party:)

we all bonded with our new patrols for about 45 minutes. after that, we had to clean up the mess.

we had changing parade, and then we fell in, the new PLs, gave each patrol a shirt where we have to decorate it, as our patrol flag.:)

After decorating, we fell back in, we had to proceed to an empty classroom with our writing materials and guides handbook to do testings. after about an hour and a half of testings, we had to run to the canteen. we fell in, and the new PLs instructed us to choose one member from our patrol to be blind folded, this is related to our outdoor cooking, after each member from the patrol gets blindfolded, we had to turn around, (we were in the canteen), there were food scattered around the canteen, and we had to answer a guides-related question if we raise up our hands the fastest, the fastest patrol will have to lead their member to the food you want to have for the outdoor cooking.

there were, maggi mee packets, egg, mushroom soup, chicken soup, vegetables, hotdogs, and fizzy drinks. after that, we split into our buddy patrols and cooked!

it was a good dinner:D

after that, we had to fall in about an hour later, then the PLs told us to clear up the mess that we have made, at the place where we wash our stuff and the canteen. after that, we fell back in. Then, we had to take our showering materials and clothes.

the first 4 patrols, dove-ixora, went to shower first, they had 3 minutes to do so, after that the next 4 patrols, oriole-orchid, had 3 minutes to shower too, after that, we packed our stuff and fell back in, we were gonna have a night walk:)

each patrol set off every 15-20 minutes, in the mean time, we were entertained by Dorothy.

The night walk had 4 game stations, the first was we had to find a piece of paper at the roundabout, after that was at the flagpoles, we had to act a scene from Phua chu Kang, the next was at the back of the parade square, we had to find a piece of paper. we were led by glow sticks on the floor, the last station was when we had to gather all the pieces of paper we collected and form something, the papers all had numbers and the numbers represented the letters in the alphabet. it formed a title of a song, we sang it together as a coy. after that, we went to the canteen to have COH. we fell out and then went to sleep:)

DAY 2 :)

we woke up at 6 15 in the morning, clara woke us up. the PSes pegged the flag while the rest of the guides went to pack their stuff, and changed into their guides uniform, before fall in, we had to lay out all our stuff on a canvas sheet.

afterthat, we fell in sparrow and orchid did colour party, the, we fell out and had changing parade. we ran to the basketball court and fall in, we had a mini lecture on taking initiatives and being fast and alert. we were also told to respect our PLs and seniors, afterthat, we had to run 2 rounds around the basketball court, we were led by clara and sherwynn.

after running, we split into 4 groups,(our buddy patrols) dove and hibiscus is one group against ixora and kingfish, oriole and morning glory is one group against sparrow and orchid. we played captain's ball for about half an hour before going to the canteen to eat our breakfast.

we had hot milo and bread( with peanut butter and jam) for breakfast. we had 45 minutes to eat including changing into our dark coloured t-shirt and bermudas. we were going to have SRIT . after getting our first aid kit and patrol flag, we fell in, then PSes were given a score sheet which is for SRIT. then, we were briefed and then we went out of school for SRIT! we spent about 1 hour plus, out of school before going back.

there were 8 stations, but we didnt manage to complete all because we didnt have enough time, 4 were outside and the other 4 was inside.

then when we went back to school, we played some more games before falling in at the quadrangle, we fell in according to height, and then the PLs and ex-PLs took the hose and sprayed water at all of us!

after that, we were given 3 minutes to change into our dry clothes and fall in at the canteen, we had lunch. our lunch was rice,otah, fishcake, and cucumber:)

after lunch, we cleaned up the canteen and we had structure, the sec 1s were seperated from the seniors because they have to learn the basics and how to tie quads etc.. the seniors went to the quadrangle. we were split into 2 groups and we had to build something, we had about 3 hours.

after structure, we went to the basketball court to fall in. we did alot of footdrills as a form of punishment and we ran 1 round on the track. we also had water water parade.

then, we got our stuff and went to shower. after showering, we had to do the logbook and eat our dinner, after dinner, we went to the AVA room to watch alice in the wonderland, we had to stop the movie half way because we had COH. we had to talk about 1 thing we like, 1 thing we didnt like, and 1 thing that needed improvement. after that, we fell out and sleep:)

DAY 3!

in the middle of the night,4 am, it started to rain, so we had to run out from our tents and run to the canteen, most of us got our sleeping bags but some didn't. we fell in after that, we were told to sleep in the canteen since we have nowhere to sleep. At about 645 in the morning, PSes had to go and take their patrol member's bag and everything that was in the tent, some of the tents were flooded and everything got wet. after bringing the bags and everything else in to the canteen, we just fell in and then had breakfast after that, we didn't fall in in our guides uniform and had colour party because the field was wet and most of our stuff too. after breakfast, we cleaned up the whole area,took down the tents , and fall in into the horse shoe formation. there was prize giving ceremony. after the ceremony, we fell out and then went back home:)
