Wednesday 4th March 2009 3-5.30 Unofficial Meeting
We fell in at 3pm and had patrols report strength. Our Sec 1s were reshuffled, so they had to stand in their new patrols. Next, we fell out and changed out of our pinafores. We fell in again at the parade square and the agenda for today was colour party and tenderfoot testings for the Sec 1s and structure tying for the seniors.
The Sec 1s fell out and the PLs asked those who were confident about trying colour party to step forward. The rest of them had to borrow the Guides handbook and study for the testings in an empty classroom. We fell out too and had to take 12 blue-green poles and 16 black-white poles and the entire box of lashing. Some of us went to the canteen as we had to do a project (making a healthy sandwich).
Those who were tying the structures went to the area in between the 2 classroom blocks. The Sec 1s had to do colour party, with Qarissa, Joey and Tristina testing them. 2 Sec 1s managed to pass :), and the rest would have to pass by next Monday. While the Sec 1s were practising/ doing colour party, the seniors were tying and opening the quads. Then, it was getting quite dark and the Sec 1s had to stop the colour party in case it started to rain suddenly. They went to help those who were tying the structures instead. We closed the quad and everyone returned the poles and bundled up the lashings.
Then, we fell in at 5.30. We had some announcements. The money for the Guides Carnival tickets will have to be given in to the PLs by next Thursday, and the $20 for our combined camp during the March Holiday will have to be handed in by next Wednesday, both through the PSes. We will be combining with the Catholic High Scouts. Each patrol senior will also have to make sure that the juniors know their colour party procedure well and the flag tying, so that there will be more passes on Monday. Then, we fell out, thanked Ms Soh and the PLs, collected our wallets and went home :D
