Hey :)

Wednesday 14th January 09 3- 5.30pm Unofficial Meeting

We fell in at 3pm and had patrols report strength and inspection. Mrs Tan came down and read to us the code of conduct for our school, and reminded us that our hair accessories can only be in black, white or dark blue, and also that we are only allowed to wear school p.e shorts during guides meeting (no more FBTs).

Next, we fell out and changed out of our pinafores. Today's agenda was CCA Day preparations. We had to take our pencil cases and wooden chopsticks and find an empty classroom to sit in. When all of us had settled down, we started on the preparations. We were divided into a few groups and each group were in charge of certain things, therefore, our preparations were organised and efficient.

Some groups were in charge of breaking the wooden chopsticks into smaller pieces, while others had to cut out flame-like shapes from red, orange and yellow pieces of construction paper. Another group had to stick the small pieces of chopsticks together to form the wood for the mini campfires, while another group had to stick the flames together. Some also helped to stick the fire onto the wood.

Apart from making mini campfires (and ending up with blisters and sticky fingers :) ), we also interacted with one another and bonded. Kai Ying also came to visit us. Then, as it was soon time to fall out, we cleaned up the classroom, picking up pieces of paper and wooden bits leftover from the chopsticks. We had to arrange the tables and chairs back in their original positions, and make sure that the classroom was spick and span, as a guide always leaves a place making sure that it is even cleaner than before.

At around 5.30, we fell in and listened to the announcements. For those of us who have signed up for the different courses, we have to be committed as our names will be given to the HQ, thus, if we are not able to make it on that certain day, we will have to strike our names off the list before it is taken down. Then we fell out, and had to run the entire length of the parade square- to and fro, as we had forgotten to thank Mrs Tan. After running, we thanked Mrs Tan, Kai Ying and the PLs, collected our wallets and went home. The PSes had to stay back as there were still some campfires that were incomplete, and we had to finish them up before we leave.

This Saturday (17th) is CCA Day, and we will have to report to school at 7.30am in p.e attire and pinafore and bring our guides uniform along too!

Join Guides! :D

Monday 12th January 09 2.30- 4.30 Unofficial meeting

The agenda for this meeting is mainly for us to study and pass our testings. We fell in at 2.30 and after that the PSes painted the Thinking Day banner while the rest were in the classroom studying. The Sec 2s and 3s had to form groups of 6- 7 to perform a skit in order to complete the Pt.1 Module 1.3- 1.5. After that, we had to fall in and run two rounds around the parade square as we were making too much noise. We also had to write on a piece of paper what testings we wanted to pass and hand it in to Joey on Wednesday.

Then we fell in, and listend to some announcements. If we have late days on the days we have guides meetings, we have to inform the PLs, and there is a sign up sheet for the ACS campfire. Then, we fell out, thanked the PLs, collected our wallets and went home.

Yup, that should be about it for now. x)
