Monday 29th December 7.55- 5 Unofficial

(The camp kit list for the stayover is at the end of the post :D )

We fell in at 7.55 and had patrol's report strength and inspection. We were supposed to start preparing for the campfire trial run but it started raining, so we all proceeded to an empty classroom. The PLs went through with us our roles for the campfire night, such as ushering and guarding the bridge. Then, we had to sing campfire songs. As some of us were not too sure of certain songs and cheers, we went to our respective patrols and went through the songs together. After practising, we were tested on the cheers patrol by patrol. If we were not loud enough or still unfamiliar with the lyrics, we had to run a few rounds around the block.

The PLs talked to us about our attitude during guides and reminded us about the A.B.C.Ds. We should also set a good example for our juniors next year, such as by not complaining loudly or talking back to the PLs. As the rain had stopped, we went out to practise for the trial run later. Item members went up to the AVA room to rehearse. Our seniors also came back to help out.

Then, we fell in at 1pm and collected our wallets for lunch. We had 45 minutes for lunch instead of an hour as we had a lot of things to complete. After lunch, we continued to prepare. Then, we started the trial run. We had a real campfire, and we ran through the whole performance, together with the emcees, Tristina and Joey. After the trial run, everyone fell in and our seniors gave us their comments and ways to improve. They felt that we certainly did better as compared to the previous meeting, but there is still room for improvement.

For backdrop, more chairs and bricks could be stacked nicely so that the backdrop would not keep flapping if there are strong winds. For item, we should practise using substitute microphones (such as pens and water bottles), so that there would not be a confusion when it comes to sharing the microphones on that day. Other components were also given advise and ways to improve. Next, our seniors reminded us on our attire. We should tuck in our shirts, make sure that the "CHIJ" logo on our socks can be seen, and that we should only use black, white or blue hair accessories.

After we fell out, the structure and firepit component went to clear up. Item members had to rehease our skit once more with pens and bottles as microphones. Then we went to help the other components to clean up. After that, everyone fell in and waited for our wallets. The PLs had some announcements for us:

On Saturday, please come in p.e attire and bring Guides uniform. Bring a rag and some newspapers. Patrol scribes, bring your logbook (which should be updated) and prefferably decorate the next few pages as there will be very little time to decorate the entries at night. PSes, please bring 2 attendance sheets. Next year's meeting will be on alternate Mondays and every Wednesday- check the Guides board for the meeting dates.

After all the announcements, we fell out, thanked everyone, collected our wallets and went home.
