Monday 22nd December 7.55- 5 Unofficial

The agenda for this meeting was basically to prepare for the Sec 1 Orientation Campfire 2009. We fell in at 7.55, had patrol's report strength and inspection. Then we fell out, changed and went to our respective campfire components. The item component went to rehearse, the structure component went to carry the structure poles and tied quads etc.

For item, we went to rehearse the whole skit, including the dances. We also had a full dress rehearsal. Unfortunately, things did not run too smoothly as were lacking of people- some of the other members were on holiday etc. So, we had "borrow" some people from other components to help carry the props and fill in the roles of those who were absent. Our seniors also came to watch us.

We went for lunch at 1 and came back at 2. Our seniors told us that one of the quads that we tied were too loose and shaky, so the structure girls went to retie the quad. Then item went to rehearse at the parade square a few times, together with the emcees, Tristina and Joey. Ashleigh and Eliza also gave us comments and suggestions on how to improve. We had to remember to act in centerstage and not go right to the sides, as the audience would not be able to see us. We also had to add in emotions and expressions, as most of us were just reciting our lines, acting because we had to, not because we want to.

It started to rain, so we all had to seek shelter. Then it rained heavier, so everyone roped in to try to untie the knots on the poles and close the quads. Everyone co-operated and we managed to close the quads. Then we had to bundle up the lashings, seperating the old ones from the new, and stack them nicely. We also had to put the poles back, as it was nearly 5pm.

Then, we fell in and listened to announcements, and the seniors hoped that we would put in more effort during the next trial run and not do whatever we had to do only because we have to, which was not the right attitude. Then we fell out, collected our wallets and thanked everyone. Those who could stay back helped to clear up.
